Paul joined the CVC team from Swiss Re where he was a Senior Tax Accountant with responsibility for UK VAT and European IPT compliance, in addition to providing VAT and IPT advice to group companies worldwide.

Paul started his career with Customs in 1986 and had 19 years experience of dealing with VAT issues which affect a wide range of business sectors. Prior to leaving HMRC, Paul specialised in the insurance sector, partial exemption and land and property. This involved working with general insurers, life insurance companies, brokers, outsourcing companies and Lloyd's syndicates to resolve issues relating to the recovery of VAT, the cross-border provision of services and interaction with IPT and other taxes.
