Opportunity for VAT refunds on Pinball machines |
|
Tuesday, 17 October 2006 13:47 |
HMRC have recently issued Business Brief 16/06. This Brief highlights an opportunity to recover VAT paid on pinball machines between 6 December 2005 and 31 October 2006. This is due to an error in changes in VAT legislation relating to gaming machines which took effect from 6 December 2005. These changes inadvertently brought pinball machines within the scope of VAT exemption. Any business which has paid VAT on pinball machine takings after that date and until the error is corrected on 1 November 2006 can reclaim this VAT.
Full details are given in the Business Brief which can be downloaded here.
