Outcome of consultation on medical services

The consultation on the scope of VAT exemption on medical services has now been completed and HMRC have issued Revenue and Customs Brief 06/07 and Information Sheet 05/07 detailing changes to the medical exemption, which will come into place on 1 May 2007.

The changes are covered in more detail in the new Health Professionals Leaflet, which also covers areas such as calculating the taxable element of NHS payments and can be viewed on HMRC's website.
